The Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) announced agenda details for its forthcoming conference, which promises to be the largest event of its kind in Europe and will be held in Berlin 12-14 November.
The programme which will delivered in German and English features four breakout streams: ‘Managing Your Suppliers’; ‘Managing Your People’; ‘Managing Your Programme’ and ‘Managing Your Future Opportunities’. The subjects discussed will include airline negotiations, strategic event management, hotel procurement, focusing on the traveller, mobility and risk management as well as "big data" – offering valuable learning opportunities to delegates of all levels.
Centre Stage featured speakers will provide unique insight into the new horizons for travel management with pioneers and masters of disruption from within the industry and outside it. Speakers will be announced in the coming months.
The event brings together GBTA’s annual conference in Europe with German partner association VDR’s autumn symposium to create Europe’s foremost business travel conference, expected to attract more than 700 delegates from more than 20 countries.
"The world around us is changing so quickly and this is having a massive effect on the role of the Business Travel Manager,” said Catherine McGavock, Regional Director of GBTA - EMEA. “We are on the brink of a whole new era of travel management – this conference will provide a unique perspective on the challenges we will be facing."
"Combining this year's autumn symposium with the international event offers German participants extra added value," says Dirk Gerdom, President of the German Business Travel Association VDR. "If they are interested in venturing beyond national boundaries and are looking for international contacts, you can become part of this international community and enjoy the home advantage at the same time. But the thing is that business mobility does not just stop at our country's borders so international networking can bring benefits for every participant."
Additional GBTA Academy educational programmes will take place in the two days prior to the event, including the Fundamentals of Business Travel Management™ course, for those new to the industry or wanting a refresher course on the basics of travel management, and the Global Travel Professional™ (GTP) examination, the first ever industry certification for the business travel professional.
