Alaska Airlines Begins Daily Nonstop Service to El Paso from Seattle and San Diego

West Texas city becomes airline's 90th nonstop destination from Sea-Tac Airport

Alaska Airlines launched daily nonstop service today between Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and El Paso International Airport, along with daily nonstop service between El Paso and San Diego International Airport.

El Paso is a new destination for Alaska, and becomes the 90th nonstop destination served from the airline's largest hub in Seattle. El Paso also becomes the 31st nonstop destination served from San Diego. Alaska has the most nonstops from the West Coast, including the most flights to Hawaii.

Alaska is the only airline providing nonstop flights between Seattle and El Paso. The easier, more convenient connection between the cities will help improve the travel time for employees who commute between Western Washington and West Texas – two regions with significant industry and business ties.

"We've considered adding El Paso as a new destination for some time," said Nicholas Haan, director of network planning at Alaska. "We're very pleased to be able to connect two of our West Coast gateway cities – Seattle and San Diego – to such a vibrant Texas city, and further share our low fares and great customer service we're known for."

El Paso is currently the largest underserved market from Seattle within the range of our Embraer 175 jets. The aircraft is a perfect fit for this route, which will be flown by Horizon Air. It has three cabin classes – including an exceptional first class, and premium class with complimentary cocktails, wine and beer plus extra legroom.

"Today we welcome a new airline partner to our community," said Monica Lombraña A.A.E., Managing Director of El Paso International Airport and International Bridges. "The enhanced connectivity to the West Coast that Alaska Airlines brings to our leisure and business travelers is a deeply appreciated investment, and we look forward to a lasting and successful partnership."

From San Diego, El Paso becomes the third nonstop destination to Texas that's served by Alaska, joining Austin and Dallas Love Field.

"We're excited to be able to offer this new route to our customers and strengthen the link between the western Texas and San Diego regions," said Angela Shafer-Payne, San Diego International Airport's COO/Vice President, Operations. "With daily, year-round service, the business and tourism travel opportunities will be abundant."
