SkyWest, Inc. announced the selection of Alexandria Marren as Chief Operating Officer of ExpressJet Airlines, Inc., effective Oct. 1, 2014. She will succeed Brad Holt, who will retire after more than 30 years at SkyWest and ExpressJet. As COO, Marren will oversee all ExpressJet Airlines operations.

Benjamin Smith, previously Executive Vice-President and Chief Commercial Officer, is appointed to the new role of President, Passenger Airlines. In addition to his current responsibilities, Mr. Smith will now have cost as well as revenue oversight for passenger airline activities, with a view to optimizing the operating profitability of Air Canada, consistent with organizational structures at other large U.S. and European airlines. Mr. Smith continues to report to Mr. Rovinescu in this role.

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) announced the appointment of Rodolfo 'Rudy' Quevedo as Director of Safety. On 2 September 2014 Quevedo will join IATA’s Safety and Flight Operations team and will be based in Montreal. He will be responsible for Cabin Safety, Safety Management Systems (SMS), and Global Aviation Data Management (GADM).
