Cathay Pacific Airways today announced that its three new direct flights from Chicago to Hong Kong will begin service on August 2, 2014, bringing the total number of flights from the Windy City to 10 per week.
The first "new" expanded service into Chicago will arrive from Hong Kong (HKG) Saturday evening, August 2, while the first "new" departure from Chicago O'Hare to Hong Kong will take off Sunday, August 3 at 1:15 am.
These additional services demonstrate Cathay Pacific's ongoing commitment to expanding connectivity between Chicago and Asia, providing more scheduling flexibility and greater customer choice. Furthermore, these new flights will allow Chicago passengers arriving into Hong Kong to make every same day Cathay Pacific connection to other Asia destinations without a layover in Hong Kong.
Cathay Pacific Senior Vice President, Americas, Tom Owen, said, "We now provide the fastest way for American customers to get from Chicago to Hong Kong and Singapore as well as a host of other SE Asian cities. The three new Chicago - Hong Kong flights will offer much improved connections to our Asia network -- including over 22 destinations in mainland China and six in India."
The new Chicago flights will be operated by Boeing 777-300ER aircraft with a consistent product offering of Business, Premium Economy and Economy Class seats and Cathay Pacific's award-winning cabin services.
"US travellers love flying to Asia with Cathay Pacific for many reasons: from our award-winning cabin crew to our inflight products and catering -- both in the air and on the ground in our fabulous airport lounges -- and now they have more opportunities to join us onboard."
