Dana Communications Selected by Spotsylvania County Economic Development and Tourism

  • Dana Communications The Department of Economic Development and Tourism in Spotsylvania County, Virginia, has contracted with Dana Communications for marketing services that promote the County as a destination for business and tourism.

    The contract, effective July 2012, will extend for up to three years and include research, rebranding, website development and a comprehensive marketing plan across all media. Dana Communications is partnering with Management Analysis, Inc. (MAI) of Vienna, Virginia, to provide economic development and tourism planning expertise.

    Spotsylvania County, one of the fast-growing areas in Virginia, is well positioned to increase its economic prosperity by attracting business and tourism. Dana’s marketing strategies will promote the County’s business-friendly features, which include a high quality of life, an excellent range of housing and shopping, infrastructure and transportation, sports facilities, plus a convenient location in the dynamic growth corridor between Richmond and Washington, DC. The County’s tourist attractions include four historic Civil War battlefields, wineries, abundant outdoor recreation and picturesque scenery, including 13,000-acre Lake Anna, the second largest lake in Virginia. 

    The initial projects for this marketing services contract are already well underway and include research and analysis of attributes that will inspire the County’s new brand. In addition, Dana and MAI are working together on developing new websites and planning for Spotsylvania County’s 150th Chancellorsville Civil War Weekend and Reenactment in May 2013.
