VRG Announces New Interline Agreements with Six European Airlines |
|
GOL Linhas Aereas Inteligentes S.A. (NYSE:GOL) (NYSE:and) (NYSE:Bovespa:) (NYSE:GOLL4) , the parent company of Brazilian airlines GOL Transportes Aereos S.A. and VRG Linhas Aereas S.A., announces six new interline agreements between VRG and European carriers. |
Beginning this month, VRG passengers traveling on domestic and international flights can purchase tickets to all destinations served by Greece's Aegean, Moldova's Air Moldova, Spain's Air Comet, the Czech Republic's CSA Czech Airlines, Poland's LOT Polish Airlines and the Ukraine's Ukraine International Airlines.
In addition to offering passengers the added convenience of having luggage checked through to their final destination, these interline agreements simplify the ticket purchasing process through global travel agents or VRG's call centers.
Since September 2007, VRG has participated in MITA (Multilateral Interline Traffic Agreement), an IATA network of airlines from around the world. All MITA members have the option to enter interline agreements with other member airlines.
In addition to these new partnerships, VRG maintains interline agreements with Brazil's GOL, France's Air France, Germany's Hahn Air, Holland's KLM, Hungary's Malev, Israel's El Al, Italy's Air One, Japan's Japan Airlines (JAL), Mexico's Mexicana, South Korea's Korean Air, Spain's Iberia, Qatar's Qatar Airways and the United States' Delta Air Lines.
Passengers traveling under the Smiles frequent flier program can only accumulate miles on flights operated by VRG.
