Visit London Unveils Events Vision |
|
At their first collaborative meeting with ISES UK (International Special Events Society UK Chapter), attended by over 60 event professionals, Visit London called for a new ‘joined up approach’ to the London events market. |
The two organisations recently agreed a partnership that will see ISES supporting Visit London in the promotion of the city as an event destination, as well as offering assistance in the bidding for major conferences and events in London.
Speaking at the event, David Hornby, Visit London Commercial Director, commented, “Our partnership with ISES is an integral part of our strategy for events in London. We see it as a progressive opportunity to create a joined up approach where we use ISES members’ market knowledge and experience as a resource to further enhance our own promotional activities.”
The event took place in the week when London submitted its final bid to host the 2012 Olympics. Whilst being the largest organised event on the planet, the Olympic Games are also a trigger for hundreds of more live events in the host city.
Philip Hughes, President of ISES UK commented, “Visit London’s vision for business tourism in the capital is comprehensive. It genuinely promotes advantages for all involved in the industry in London and will place us in a strong position to benefit fully from the opportunities that will exist with a London Olympics in 2012.
